Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (Section 6(4)(b)) Regulations, 1999

I, Charlie McCreevy, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by
sections 3 and 6(4) of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (No. 13 of 1997),
hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (Section 6(4)(b))
Regulations, 1999.

2. In these Regulations a reference to a section is a reference to that section of the
Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (No.13 of 1997).

3. For the purposes of section 6(4)(b) such particular matters are hereby specified to be such
classes of individual and such classes of requester as may stand specified by regulations
under and for the purposes of section 28(6).

These Regulations provide that requesters, having access to certain records of third parties by virtue of regulations made under section 28(6), may access such records created prior to commencement of the FOI Act.
